Art Deco Bronze Dancer Signed S. Melani

Art Deco bronze dancer by the Italian artist Salvatore Melani (1902-1934). Salvatore's sculptures would have been created in the Art Deco period and this is evident in his style. the sculptures varied from Art Deco dancing girls, hunters, and animals which were produced in bronze, metal. terracotta, and gypsum. Sadly, there is little history about Salvatore Melani, however, this is not unusual regarding artists from the early 20th century due to the information being lost in the war years. This rare and graceful bronze dancer is in lovely condition, mounted on a triple stepped variegated marble base, signed S. Melani in the bronze cast.
